Situated between Burleigh Falls and Apsley, the Kawartha Nordic Ski Club boasts 30 km (18.6 mi) of groomed trails and a 10-km (6.2-mi) ski track.

There are even a couple of downhill ski areas located in the Kawarthas. Usually opening in December, these ski hills attract skiers and snowboarders from wider Ontario. The Devil's Elbow is located in Bethany and is a family-friendly facility where ski and snowboard lessons are readily available. In the hamlet of Batawa visitors will find the Batawa Ski Resort, complete with equipment rentals, a terrain park and ski shop.
